Science and the Gospel

In Guatemala, it’s uncommon for schools to organize science fairs, but at Agua Viva, year after year we’ve given our students the opportunity to explore the world of science, creativity, and innovation. These types of activities not only allow them to apply what they’ve learned in the classroom, but also to discover how God is responsible for every aspect of creation.

This year our high school students showcased their ingenuity, enthusiasm, and dedication by developing various projects in the fields of biology, chemistry, and physics, which they then presented to our preschool and primary school students. Some of the presentations included innovative ways to teach biology lessons, such as learning about the different systems in the human body. Others focused on demonstrating principles of chemistry and physics, which left the younger students in awe.

What blessed us the most this year was seeing students use their experiments to share the message of the gospel with their classmates. Watching and listening to our students speak about Jesus Christ with others is a testimony of what God is doing in their lives, and we rejoice that we are helping to prepare them to proclaim the good news.

At Agua Viva, in addition to offering quality education to our students, we also offer them experiences that many other schools in our country can’t provide, such as the science fair. What truly fills our hearts with joy is seeing how our students’ lives are being transformed by Jesus Christ and witnessing how, despite their young age, many already have given their lives to Him.

The Lord is working powerfully in our hearts and in our classrooms. We encourage you to be part of this ministry by joining us in prayer for our students and the work that God is doing here!
