From Challenges to Dreams

Wilson knows what it means to start over. At just 15, he left behind his home, friends, and daily routine when his mother moved to the United States. Along with his younger sister, he relocated to this region to live with his older sister. The transition wasn’t easy, but it was during this time—two years ago—that he found Agua Viva. More than just a place of education, it became a source of community and a path toward his dreams.

Now a senior studying accounting, Wilson has faced his share of challenges. The pandemic disrupted his education, leaving gaps in key subjects. Instead of giving up, he embraced self-learning, spending extra hours researching, watching educational videos, and reinforcing his knowledge. His perseverance has helped him overcome these obstacles and prepare for the future.

Yet, his greatest growth at Agua Viva hasn’t just been academic—it has been spiritual. While he attended church back home, it was here that he developed a deeper understanding of the Gospel. He realized the true meaning of Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross and how it brings forgiveness and redemption. This has sparked a genuine desire to know God more. In his free time, he now reads the Bible and strengthens his prayer life, finding comfort and guidance in his faith.

This year, Wilson will graduate with a clear goal: to become a lawyer. He knows the road ahead won’t be easy, but he trusts that God will guide him every step of the way. With determination, he is ready to work hard and pursue his dream.

His story is one of perseverance, faith, and the power of a supportive community. Looking ahead, Wilson is deeply grateful to everyone who has contributed to his education and growth. His prayer is that God will continue to lead him in this new chapter, and that Agua Viva will remain a place where more young people can find opportunities and hope, just as he has.
